Visiting Schools: International School Bangkok

Photos of 2007!
Here is a fairly random spattering of photos covering the second half of 2007. We planted a ton of trees, designed a food forest, hosted three permaculture workshops, ate a ton of amazing food, and stood in awe as the natural processes did most of the work. It is fun and amazing to watch as the project just keeps unfolding! Take a look.

Earthworks: Dams and Swales
In November / December of 2007, at the close of a Permculture Design Course held on this land, we called in a 20-ton excavator and turned our design into a reality. At the end of five days with the excavator we had a 2 million liter (500,000 gallon) dam, and four swales.
These are photos documenting the construction, progression, planting and conditions of the dam and swales from the moment of the first dig to the present.
Slowing down water and storing it in the land is one of the key principals to Permaculture. This system of swales and the dam are going to dramatically alter the (…)
